The construction in Portugal is 95% brick and mortar, we have very few wooden homes, this construction is very sturdy and durable. Due to this construction method repairs are costly and lengthy, even relatively simple fixes can often take multiple days to fix. A simple remodel usually takes 2 or 3 months, if you plan on breaking down walls changing windows, doors kitchen bathrooms… you might take 5 or 6 months to complete.

These Post repair Inspections are done after the requested repairs have been completed on part of the seller, at this point we will inspect the work and verify that the repairs were made following best practices and proper procedures, ensuring that the flagged issues are correctly addressed and solved.

As a rule, we believe that new is always better or good, and we tend to think that in a new home everything will be roses, unfortunately this is not always the case.
We cannot afford to assume that the builders are perfect, and their subcontract do not cut corners or even produce poor workmanship that can in the future become major issues, some homes even have Major issues right off the bat, that without an Inspection can be missed.
New homes in Portugal have a 5-year warranty, however repairs can take time and be exhausting when you are already living in the house, we find those issues so that you can move in without having to worry and start enjoying your time in Portugal.
